The Department of Social Work and Social Policy (DSWSP) is composed of 21 staff members. The Department offers two Bachelor programs (Social Work and Social Administration and Social policy); seven Master degrees and one doctoral program in Social Work. The Department aims at educating students to shape their life, their professional expertise and the society as a whole. It also contributes to the improvement of society through the teaching, the research and the public services activities in the field of social work.
Since 1996, the DSWSP has been a member of the European Association of Social Work. Recently, it joined theInternational Social Work and Society Academy (TiSSA) and the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).
Rudina Rama

Rudina Rama is a full time Lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Tirana. Since 2016 she has been holding the position of Head of Department of Social Work and Social Policy. After graduating in social work, she completed her Master studies in Social Work and Public Administration. Her main areas of interest and expertise include social research methods, health care services, social program management and social policies.
Edmond Dragoti

Prof. Dr. Edmond Dragoti, Professor at Tirana University, Faculty of Social Sciences is a Senior national professional with over 30 years of experience in social psychology and social research. He holds a Doctorate Diploma in adolescence development. Prof. Dr. Edmond Dragoti’s expertise includes social and health educations, public information, social mobilizations, communications training; social and public health research, migration and market research.
Marinela Sota
Scientific Committee
Marinela Sota, graduated in Social Work at the University of Tirana. She joined the Department of Social Work and Social Policy in 2008. She is specialized in the issue of execution of alternative sentences. Her research interest also includes the areas of social services in the justice system, the practice of social work with groups, state policies and their effectiveness.
Izela Tahsini

Izela Tahsini is Associate Professor at the University of Tirana. Over the last 15 years she has been working in the field of children care both as a social worker and as a researcher and University Lecturer. She co-designed the Master of Science in Child and Family Issues, at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Tirana.
Daniela Kalaja
Dissemination implementation
Daniela Kalaja is a full time Lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Tirana. Her main research areas include gender studies and development issues. Her working experiences in these areas include teaching at Bachelor and Masters level and academic research. Among her research issues: gender equality, human rights and children rights.
Monika Cenameri
Administrative issues and implementation
Dr. Monika Cenameri (Taçi) is a full time Lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana. Among her research and teaching areas: human rights protection, women, children and adolescents’ care. As a Social Worker she has been actively involved in the organization of civic society activities.
