Aleksander Xhuvani

The Department of Social Sciences has been developing its activities within the Faculty of Education Sciences since 2004. The Department is composed of 9 full time Lectures and 12 part-time Lecturers. The Department of Social Sciences can count on a high number of structured collaborations with local, national and international stakeholders, where the students of Social Work are encouraged to develop their professional expertise through a traineeship period. The Department offers one Bachelor Degree in Social Work, one Master Degree in Social Services, and two professional Masters in “Social work with family and children” and “Test Service”.

Elisabeta Osmanaj

Elisabeta Osmanaj has been Head of Department of Social Sciences since 2016. Her main research fields include Social Services in criminal justice and European Union’s social policies. Her recent researches deal with minorities’ rights in Albania, with a focus on the Roma community.

Skender Topi has been Rector of the University of Elbasan “Aleksandër Xhuvani” since 2016. He is the coordinator of several Capacity Building projects. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Medicine and Healthcare.

Eda Çela has been the coordinator of the Office of International Relations at the University of Elbasan “Aleksandër Xhuvani” since 2017. She provides legal expertise in national and international projects. Among her research areas: human rights and Constitutional Law.
